Last Sunday 20 Dec'09, we have our 1st BBQ gathering section for our family member @ Sembawang Park. And of course, we had consume lot of heaty stuff.............what i like most is the prawn that we got from JB, it say to be 海虾 (Sea Prawn). We got it very cheap for only RM 25 for 1 kg. Unfortunately i was busy eating and taking care of my son who runs around like nobody business...so no picture to share. The prawn size ...err i consider as average size bah but most important is the freshness and of course it so juicy even after BBQ them.

To dispel this heatiness, early morning i headed down to the wet market to get some nice sugar cane and water chestnut to prepare this delicious drinks for my family.
Water chestnut is COLD in nature and is also a excellent drink for clearing heatiness in our body. But remember do not over consume.

Posting something unrelated to Cooking nor Baking....

Normally when I'm out with my DS, I love taking his photo....Why Why Why..at his age...he will give you all kind of facial expression/action so I quickly snap a few to put up here to share.

Baked some fruit tart & strawberry heart cheesecake for my hb friends gathering previously. My first try on the fruit tart but few attempt for strawberry heart cheesecake but the cutting skill still need to be master....Hahaha
Forgotten to snap the complete cake before giving to friends...

Fruit Tarts

Baked a Blackforest cake using Florence's recipe over last weekend for my hb 35th Birthday.

Although it not very nice decorate but i'm quite happy with the overall result as it my 1st attempt on Birthday Cake - Sponge Cake. Definately need to brush up my piping skill, coating the cream and many many more.

I even forgotten to trim off the top part - Dome that's why it seem that the cherry cant stay in place well....

The cake is bake using a 8" round baking tin coating with Fresh Cream and Pitted Dark Cherries (Internal filling)....on the external deco, I'm using the Whole Cherry w/o stem that i got from Phoon Huat Geylang. The surrounding & Middle area are coated with Cocoa Block Shave.

My son birthday is coming also...so guess got to consider what to bake for him inorder to finish off those cherries in fridge.
